Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
